Therapy Terms
Please read these terms carefully, as they outline your agreement with Loretta Rose of Ametrope Ltd., trading as Dawnsong.
Confidentiality
What we discuss during therapy is confidential between you and me. However, there are some important exceptions you should be aware of:
- In line with the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am required to undertake regular supervision. This means I may discuss aspects of our work with my supervisor, but your identity will always remain protected.
- If I have reason to believe that you are at risk of harm to yourself or others, I am ethically obliged to break confidentiality. In such cases, I would discuss my concerns with you before contacting your GP.
- Confidentiality must also be broken if I have reason to believe you are involved in illegal activities related to terrorism or money laundering, as required by law.
Ethical Framework
As a BACP member, I adhere to the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and am subject to its complaint procedures.
Notes and GDPR
Your personal details and session notes are stored securely and confidentially. They will not be shared, added to any mailing lists, or used for any purpose beyond our work together.
Terminating Therapy
You have full control over the number of counselling sessions you choose to have. We will review progress as we go, ensuring flexibility to accommodate changing circumstances. You may decide to end therapy at any time. If you choose to do so, I offer every client a dedicated ending session to conclude our work together.
Cancellations
I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise. However, late cancellations mean that your appointment cannot be offered to someone else. These are the cancellation terms:
- 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations.
- Less than 24 hours’ notice will result in full session charge.
- No-show (no notice given) will result in full session charge.
- If I need to cancel due to illness, I will provide at least 24 hours’ notice.
